Big Jud's

Big Jud’s is a tiny burger shack in Boise, Idaho. The inside only contains about 10 or so tables, and seems like it used to be a pizza shop. They sell cheeseburgers in various sizes and types. The place was recommended to be by a native, so I felt inclined to make a special stop to try it out en route to Oregon.  I ordered a standard cheeseburger as-is.

Unfortunately, I had to order it to-go and eat it in the car since I was tired and was only half-way to Portland. The burger is so good that it only existed for a total of about 50 seconds, with 20 or so of them being the walk to the car.

Burger Ratings:

Burger:  9

Oh man, this burger is good.  The bun is absolutely perfect, and I really like that they give you two slices of cheddar. The mustard, ketchup, and mayonnaise were just right, which I was initially skeptical of.  Usually there’s always way too much of one condiment, but that was not the case.

Side: 5

The french fries here are pretty good. They also offer tater tots, onion rings, or side salads.

Environment: 3

The environment of Big Jud’s leaves something to be desired. The lighting is very dim and everything just seems to be really old and dirty. The employees seem annoyed to serve you, but the food is so good it doesn’t matter.

Value: 9

A cheeseburger alone is $2.99, and a double cheeseburger is $4.09.  Sides are $1.69 for the small, and $2.49 for the large.  Given how absolutely delicious the food here is – I would rate the value at a 9.
