Skyline Restaurant
1313 NW Skyline Boulevard Portland, OR 97229
Skyline Restaurant is an old-fashioned drive-in located right at the corner of a 4-way intersection in NE Portland . It’s about a 15 minute drive out of the city, but is totally worth the trip. They are very well-known for their tasty old-fashioned burgers and shakes. Their menu is filled with things you would expect from a drive-in, including a nice variety of burgers. I ordered the Skyline Burger, their standard cheeseburger.
The burger – on a separate plate! – and fries.
It tastes just as good as it looks.
Burger Ratings:
Burger: 9
The burger here is your classic American cheeseburger. Sesame seed bun, thin beef patty, American cheese, onions, shredded iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, and mayo. It’s delicious as fuck.
Side: 3
No idea why they serve such shitty french fries. The desire to eat them absolutely vanished after about the fourth fry. They are best described as “boring” – order onion rings, or anything else really, instead.
Environment: 5
The inside is pretty much what you would expect. Dinged up formica counter tops, ripped leather booths, and an overall grimy feel. On the walls, they have a bunch of burger-themed pictures that patrons have drew up. Here’s my favorite, which I could have just posted to sum up this review.
Jackson is onto something.
Value: 9
The Skyline burger is $3.95. Everything is totally reasonably priced, and they could get away with charging way more. Amazing value.
