Built Burger

Built Burger is a Seattle-based company that creates artisinal burgers using fine ingredients.  From the website:

Imagine an all natural beef burger made from cows that roamed free in the Pacific Northwest with an infusion of chorizo from Peru combined with farm grown roasted red bell peppers, caramelized Walla Walla onions and a splash of Worcestershire sauce and sea salt from Isle St Louis in Paris.

Well, I do like imagining cows roaming free, so that’s already a positive. They currently have 13 types of burgers to select from, and you can also create a custom order if you’re not satisfied with those options. The burgers are sold in either a 6 oz. patty or a 2.5 oz slider size.

The Trailblazer Melt burger:

Ingredients:  All Natural Beef, Caramelized Onions, Cave-aged Gruyere Cheese, Ground Caraway, Salt, Pepper

OK – I don’t really know what “cave-aged” gruyere means. Realistically, I don’t really know anything about cheese or the cheese-making process (though I did visit the Tillamook Cheese factory, and that should count for something) so I am imagining a box of cheese being set inside a cave while it …ages. The process seems adorable and thinking about it made the burger itself taste better.

And two sliders, the Magnificent Chorizo on the left, and the Prosciutto Beef on the right:

(yes, that is a normal-sized bun cut in half – grocery stores should totally stock slider-size buns)

Magnificent Chorizo: All Natural Beef, House made Chorizo, Roasted Poblanos, Grated Cotija cheese, Fresh Cilantro, Fresh Onion, Salt, Pepper

Prosciutto Beef:  All Natural Beef, Prosciutto di Parma, Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese, Carmelizied Balsamic Onions, Roasted Red Peppers, Salt, Pepper

The Stellar Short Rib burger:

The ingredients:  All Natural Beef, All Natural slow braised Short Rib, House made marinade, Salt, Pepper

They recommend that you don’t add anything to the burgers – and even suggest eating them plain, without a bun – but to me that is taking it out of the burger realm and into burger-shaped meat-disc territory.  Anyway! I resisted the urge to add even basic add-ons  (such as lettuce, tomato, and pickle) and just placed them on a potato bun.  They’re pretty effortless to make on a grill, and are absolutely delicious!

Burger Ratings:

Burger: 7

The BuiltBurgers are incredibly tasty and flavorful.  If you are into grilling burgers at home or for a BBQ, these are a real treat. They’re pretty effortless, as all you really need to do is cook them and throw them on a bun.  I’m lazy and normally hate making myself dinner, but grilling burgers – especially delicious burgers with fresh ingredients – is definitely something to enjoy .  A++ burgz

I couldn’t find any .gif of “wherever u like” but NVM I MADE ONE

Value: 6

The sliders are $48 for a 12 pack ($4 each) and a build-your-own burger pack of 6 full-size burgers is $49.50 for 6 (or $8.25 each). For me personally, these are a bit pricey for a normal dinner, but they would be perfect for a nice BBQ or special occasion.  If you already buy fresh burgers to make at home, these are something worth trying out.
